![]() What Is Squinch? Squinch is a cost estimating tool for plating and anodizing shops, to help them more accurately estimate their material costs when quoting jobs. Enter the basic cost of the minimum thickness layer per square unit of area, and fixed and variable cost multipliers. Then, select any of nine standard shapes, enter the appropriate dimensional data, and the program instantly calculates the costs for multiple thicknesses.

In addition to the nine basic shapes, there is a manual surface area field where user-determined values can be entered. A number of the shapes also display the calculated 'component' surface area, such as the size of a single end and the outer face on a cylinder. Using these values, the surface area of complicated shapes can be determined. What Does It Cost?
